Brazil’s Mauricio Ruffy opened the UFC 313 main card stunningly with a spectacular spinning wheel kick to knock King Green out in the first round.

The pair of lightweights met on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to set the table for headliners Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev. In the end, it took Ruffy less than two minutes to send fans into a frenzy and Green into unconsciousness.

With his hands down and head exposed, the American was near the fence when the finishing sequence occurred.

After feinting a left hook, which got Green to react, Ruffy delivered a wheel kick that saw his heel land perfectly on target. Immediately, Green rag-dolled onto the canvas as Ruffy stood over him in celebration.

‘That’s nasty! Green went to the shadow realm again,’ one fan wrote on X.

‘KO of the year contender in March!!! What a spinning kick!! Mauricio Ruffy is a superstar,’ another added.

‘I wanted to dominate and control him. Once I dominated and I got control, I just waited for the right moment.’
