Day 4 of Indiana Fever training camp is officially in the books, and the energy inside the gym is electric. With the regular season fast approaching, the Fever continue to ramp up the intensity as players battle for roles, develop chemistry, and fine-tune the system under head coach Christie Sides. One thing is clear: this isn’t the same Fever team of years past — and everyone is staying sharp.

Caitlin Clark Settling In

After a whirlwind rookie introduction, Caitlin Clark is starting to look more comfortable with each practice. On Day 4, Clark showed more command of the offense, directing traffic, hitting long-range shots in rhythm, and feeding teammates with crisp passes.

Coach Sides praised her growth:

“She’s learning fast. She’s picking up on the pace and physicality, and what I love most is her communication — she’s becoming a vocal leader already.”

While Clark’s shot was on target during shooting drills, her focus in camp has been defense and decision-making under pressure — areas the coaching staff are emphasizing.

 Aliyah Boston Looks Dominant

Last season’s Rookie of the Year, Aliyah Boston, has come into camp with a clear message: she’s not just here to repeat last year’s success — she’s here to lead. Boston looked unstoppable in the paint during scrimmages, outmuscling defenders, securing rebounds, and finishing through contact.

“I feel stronger, faster, and smarter,” Boston said after practice. “We’re building something serious here, and I’m all in.”

Her chemistry with Clark is already forming, especially on pick-and-roll plays and outlet passes.

 Kelsey Mitchell Leading by Example

Veteran guard Kelsey Mitchell continues to shine as a consistent offensive weapon. Her leadership has been essential in helping younger players adapt to the team culture. On Day 4, Mitchell was the vocal presence on the floor, encouraging teammates and correcting positioning during live drills.

Her shooting stroke remains elite — knocking down threes in transition and mid-range jumpers off the dribble. More importantly, her defense and hustle set the tone for the day’s competitive drills.

Roster Battles Heating Up

With only 12 roster spots available, the competition in camp is intense. Players like Kristy Wallace, Erica Wheeler, and NaLyssa Smith are giving it their all in hopes of securing key roles. Wheeler’s veteran savvy and defensive presence have been noticeable, while Smith continues to flash versatility as a stretch forward.

“We have tough decisions ahead. These women are competing every day, and no spot is guaranteed. That’s what you want in camp — high-level battles.”

 Mental Focus and Culture

Beyond drills and scrimmages, Day 4 focused heavily on film study and situational basketball. The coaching staff is working to instill a team-first culture with accountability, trust, and communication as its foundation.
