Elon Musk, the visionary CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI, delivered powerful remarks at the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, highlighting opportunities for cooperation between the world’s leading technology innovators and the rapidly transforming Saudi economy.
Held as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, the forum brought together U.S. and Saudi officials, tech leaders, and global investors to discuss partnerships in energy, artificial intelligence, transportation, and space.
Tesla’s Middle East Expansion Plans
During his speech, Musk emphasized the potential for Tesla to expand its presence in Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf region. He announced that Tesla is exploring opportunities to establish a regional manufacturing and distribution center in the Kingdom to support growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs).
“This is a region with enormous potential for renewable energy,” Musk said. “Saudi Arabia’s commitment to clean energy and sustainability makes it an ideal partner for Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.”
He also revealed that Tesla plans to deploy a network of Supercharger stations across major Saudi cities and highways to support the growing EV infrastructure.
SpaceX Collaboration and Satellite Connectivity
In addition to Tesla developments, Musk discussed potential collaborations between SpaceX and Saudi Arabia’s space sector. He noted interest in launching joint satellite missions and expanding the Starlink satellite internet system to improve connectivity in remote areas of the Middle East and North Africa.
“Access to high-speed internet should be a global right,” Musk said. “We’re excited about the possibilities of working with Saudi Arabia to bring Starlink to underserved regions.”
Emphasis on Artificial Intelligence and Global Ethics
Musk also spoke on the future of artificial intelligence, emphasizing both the immense potential and the ethical responsibilities that come with AI innovation. He expressed interest in collaborating with Saudi research institutions and investment entities to support responsible AI development through his company xAI.
“The decisions we make today about AI will shape the world for generations,” Musk said. “We must ensure it is developed in a way that respects humanity and promotes global well-being.”
Alignment with Vision 2030
Musk’s remarks were closely aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030—a long-term plan to diversify the economy, embrace digital transformation, and become a global hub for technology and innovation. Saudi officials welcomed Musk’s vision and expressed strong interest in future cooperation.
Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih commented, “Elon Musk represents the spirit of innovation that Vision 2030 is all about. We are eager to work together on solutions that benefit both our nations—and the world.”
Looking Ahead
Elon Musk’s appearance in Riyadh marks a milestone in the growing partnership between the U.S. tech sector and Saudi Arabia. His remarks reinforced a shared vision for a sustainable, connected, and innovative future.
“We’re not just thinking about the next quarter or the next year,” Musk concluded. “We’re thinking about the next century—and how we can build a better future, together.”
