Tech billionaire Elon Musk is reportedly furious following a wave of critical financial reports that paint a grim picture for Tesla and raise serious questions about the company’s leadership. According to multiple sources, Musk’s anger stems from a growing chorus of analysts suggesting that replacing him as CEO may no longer be unthinkable—it might even be necessary.

Tesla, long considered the crown jewel in Musk’s business empire, has recently suffered a dip in sales, narrowing profit margins, and a significant stock decline following an underwhelming earnings report. Investors are becoming increasingly concerned about the company’s strategic direction, particularly as Musk appears distracted by other ventures, including SpaceX, Neuralink, and the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
A recent analysis from Bernstein warned, “While Elon Musk is undoubtedly the visionary behind Tesla’s success, the company’s overreliance on a single individual is becoming a liability. A clear succession plan is now critical to restoring market confidence.”
Musk didn’t take the criticism lightly. Taking to social media, he lashed out at analysts, calling them “ignorant” and “biased,” and defended Tesla’s innovation leadership. He emphasized upcoming technologies like Full Self-Driving (FSD) and the Optimus humanoid robot as proof the company remains far ahead of the curve.
But the investment community remains cautious. Several major shareholders have begun urging the Tesla board to consider an internal restructure, including identifying potential leadership alternatives should Musk no longer be able—or willing—to dedicate himself fully to Tesla.
