UFC President Dana White has confirmed that Ilia Topuria’s next fight will headline UFC 317, scheduled for June 28, 2025, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Topuria, who recently vacated his featherweight title to move up to the lightweight division, is set to challenge either current champion Islam Makhachev or top contender Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title .
 Topuria’s Move to Lightweight
Ilia Topuria announced his decision to vacate the UFC Featherweight Championship and ascend to the lightweight division after an undefeated run in 2024. He cited his growing physique and desire for new challenges as reasons for the move . Topuria’s last featherweight bout was a third-round knockout victory over Max Holloway at UFC 308.
 Potential Opponents at UFC 317
Topuria’s opponent at UFC 317 hinges on the outcome of UFC 315’s main event between welterweight contenders Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena. If Della Maddalena wins, Makhachev may move up to challenge for the welterweight title, leaving Topuria to potentially face Oliveira for the vacant or interim lightweight title. If Muhammad retains his title, Makhachev is anticipated to remain at lightweight and defend against Topuria .
