UFC star Conor McGregor had quite the start to his week after arriving at the White House on Monday.

His plan was to meet with President Donald Trump to raise awareness of “the issues the people of Ireland face.”

The former mixed martial arts champ is a St. Patrick’s Day guest of honor at the White House.

McGregor said he wants to run for Ireland’s presidency later this year on an anti-immigration platform. He is considered a long shot to be included on the official ballot for the October election.

His issues in the court system are one problem, but he would also require official backing from at least 20 sitting members of Parliament or four local councils.

While at the White House, Conor McGregor briefly appeared before the media alongside White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

McGregor raised several issues with the current state of politics in his native Ireland.

“Our government abandoned the voices of the people of Ireland. Our money is being spent overseas on issues that have nothing to do with the Irish people. It’s time the people in America are made aware of what’s going on Ireland, what is going on Ireland is a travesty. Our government is a government with zero action and zero accountability.”

The UFC superstar hopes Trump will help the people of Ireland.

“Ireland and America, we are siblings. It’s important for Ireland to be a peaceful and prosperous country for 40 million Irish Americans to have a place to visit, to come home. We wish for our relationship with the U.S. to continue. The U.S. should look after its little bro.”

A woman who had accused the mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor of raping her in a hotel penthouse in 2018 was awarded for her allegations.

McGregor was accused of “brutally” assaulting the woman in a Dublin hotel in Dec. 2018 after she invited McGregor to join her and a friend at a company holiday party in Dublin.

McGregor was found liable in connection with a 2018 sexual assault in Dublin, Ireland, last year and was ordered to pay the victim nearly €250,000.

Lawyers for the woman claimed that the woman was left with bruises and post-traumatic stress disorder after the assault.

McGregor avoided the media after the trial but posted on X after leaving the courthouse, saying he was “disappointed” and planned to appeal the decision.
