The moment Clark stepped onto the court, the crowd erupted in a thunderous standing ovation. Dressed in black and gold, she smiled, waved, and placed a hand over her heart — clearly moved by the emotion in the building.

“I’ll always be a Hawkeye,” Clark said during her speech. “This place made me who I am — and I hope I made you proud.”

As the banner with her name and number rose into the rafters, many in the arena — including Clark herself — were visibly emotional. The crowd chanted, “Thank you, Caitlin!” over and over.
