Chris Eubank Jr silenced critics and settled an old score — and he’s got the smile (and the unbroken jaw) to prove it.
Moments after his stunning victory over Conor Benn, Eubank Jr sat down for an exclusive post-fight interview, proudly declaring,
“No broken jaw here, folks. Just a big win and an even bigger message sent.”
The remark was a direct jab at weeks of speculation — and trash talk — from Benn’s camp, who had repeatedly claimed that Eubank was “damaged goods” following his previous loss and rumored training injuries. But under the lights and in the ring, it was Eubank who had the final word.
A Fight with Deep History
The bout wasn’t just another clash of contenders — it was a continuation of a bitter family rivalry that dates back decades. The fathers of both fighters — Chris Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn — gave fans two all-time classic battles in the 1990s. Tonight, their sons added a new, fiery chapter to that legendary feud.
And while the buildup was fiery, what happened in the ring was even more so. From the opening bell, both fighters came out aggressive. Benn pressed forward, trying to impose his will, but Eubank’s timing, jab, and counterpunching were razor-sharp.
In Round 7, a clean uppercut followed by a punishing right hook sent Benn to the canvas. Though he beat the count, Eubank dominated the remainder of the round — and ultimately walked away with a unanimous decision victory.
“I Outclassed Him”
Speaking to IHIP News ringside, Eubank was all confidence, saying:
“They said I was finished. They said I had no chin, no heart. Well, I just took their guy apart for 12 rounds. I outclassed him, outpaced him, outfought him. Simple as that.”
When asked about the build-up and the emotions behind fighting someone tied to such a personal rivalry, Eubank nodded:
“This one meant more. It wasn’t just another fight. It was legacy. It was pride. It was family. And I wasn’t going to let anyone take that from me tonight.”
What’s Next?
With the win, Eubank Jr. re-establishes himself as a major force in the middleweight division — and potentially back in line for a title shot. Names like Liam Smith (in a possible trilogy), Gennady Golovkin, or even a jump up for a “money fight” could now be in play.
As for Conor Benn, the loss is a setback — but not necessarily a career-defining one. Still young and with explosive power, he’s expected to bounce back, though questions about his stamina and defensive skills will likely follow him into his next camp.
A Statement Victory
For now, though, this night belongs to Chris Eubank Jr. — who not only won a grudge match but may have just fought the most disciplined, focused fight of his career.
“I told everyone I was different this time,” he said, cracking a smile. “No drama. No distractions. Just dominance.”
And with that, Eubank Jr. left the ring — jaw intact, legacy reinforced, and future wide open.
