The Indiana Fever officially opened the doors to the media on Day 2 of their 2025 training camp, giving fans and journalists a first-hand glimpse at one of the most anticipated teams of the upcoming WNBA season. Held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the session buzzed with energy as star players, rookies, and coaches fielded questions and showcased their chemistry on and off the court.

A Star in the Spotlight: Caitlin Clark Draws the Cameras
All eyes were on No. 1 overall draft pick Caitlin Clark, whose transition from NCAA superstar to WNBA rookie continues to captivate audiences. The former Iowa guard spoke candidly about adapting to the professional pace and learning from veterans around her.

“This team is special. The veterans have welcomed me in and pushed me from Day 1,” Clark said. “I’m just trying to soak up everything and be the best teammate I can be.”
On the court, Clark looked sharp—draining deep threes with ease and showing flashes of her signature court vision.

Boston, Bonner, and Chemistry in Progress
Second-year forward Aliyah Boston and veteran acquisition DeWanna Bonner both took time to speak to the media, emphasizing the importance of building early-season chemistry. Bonner, a two-time WNBA champion, praised Boston’s growth and composure, calling her “a future cornerstone of this franchise.”

Boston, in turn, highlighted how Bonner’s experience is already elevating the team’s intensity and professionalism:
“DeWanna has championship DNA. You feel it in practice—the way she talks, the way she holds us accountable.”

Coach Sides Sets the Tone
Head coach Christie Sides, now in her second season, outlined the team’s goals: building a defensive identity, improving transition offense, and embracing a team-first mentality. She expressed excitement about the blend of youth and veteran presence in this year’s group.
“We’ve got the pieces—we just need to keep putting in the work every day. That’s what camp is all about,” Sides said.

Notable Absences and Injury Updates
Kelsey Mitchell, the team’s leading scorer from last season, was seen participating in light shooting drills as she continues to recover from an ankle sprain. Coach Sides said Mitchell is progressing well and is expected to return to full practice within the next week.
What’s Next?
The Fever continue their camp through early May, with preseason matchups against the Dallas Wings (May 3) and Atlanta Dream (May 10). The real test begins when they tip off the regular season at home against the Washington Mystics on May 14.
With expectations higher than ever, media availability at training camp made one thing clear: the Indiana Fever are no longer rebuilding—they’re ready to compete.
