Paddy Pimblett has revealed his desire to fight Logan Paul at WrestleMania as well admitting a ‘love’ for wrestling that could see him compete in the sport.

Pimblett, 30, will look to pick up the biggest win of his career at UFC 314 in April as he seeks to continue his ongoing six-fight win streak.

But he has now been open about his ambitions to feature in wrestling in the future should an opportunity arise.

In an interview with AceOdds.com, he said: ”ve said for years that I’ll end up doing a bit of professional wrestling. When I was a kid growing up, I loved the WWE. I always watched it. DX, Shawn Michaels, my favourite of all time. I’d love to have a little go with WWE.

‘I’d definitely be more suited to go into professional wrestling. Years ago I’d always said like, when Jake Paul was first starting out, I thought I’d beat him in a boxing match – but now, I think he’s a much better boxer than he was.’

‘So, I’d definitely rather wrestle Logan Paul at WrestleMania. I would love to get into wrestling, lad. I’ve always said that. I love WrestleMania. It’d be unbelievable to do.’

A staunch Liverpool supporter, the born-and-bred Scouser also revealed he was upset by the prospect of Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving Anfield this summer.

Pimblett, who went to school with the England international’s older brother, said he does not ‘understand’ why the right-back would choose to leave Merseyside now – given that the Reds have enjoyed an impressive first season with Arne Slot at the helm.

As for Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk – the other two Liverpool stars with their futures at the club in doubt – Pimblett said he could not see them leaving.

The latter has urged Liverpool fans to not panic or feel anxious over his unsolved future ahead of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United.

In a wide-ranging sit-down interview on Thursday, the Dutchman said: ‘As long as I am calm to you guys then there is no need to panic, whatever may happen in the future.

‘If I was worried you would see me playing a little bit worried and that is not the case.

‘Maybe I will run this fully down and then if there is still no news, I don’t know. I don’t know at this stage (what will happen).

‘But I don’t want to create any anxiety or anything like that, I just keep my head down and focus on hopefully winning the next 10 games.

‘That is my full focus: to be there for the manager, the players, the fans. So let’s see what it brings and I am sure by the end of the season there will be news. But what kind of news I am not sure.

‘The only thing I can say, and I have said it already many times, is that I am so proud to be the captain of this beautiful club that means so much to me and has meant so much to me in the past, as well as my family.’
