UFC Fans Slam ChatGPT’s Pound-For-Pound Rankings After Alex Pereira & Ilia Topuria Snub From Top 5

Alex Pereira and Ilia Topuria
Pound-for-pound rankings have always been a hot topic among MMA fans. In the past, fans mocked Dana White for calling Jon Jones the #1 P4P fighter while ignoring the official rankings that had Islam Makhachev at the top. But now, fans are even more upset after seeing ChatGPT’s P4P rankings, where Alex Pereira and Ilia Topuria didn’t even make the top five.
MMA On Point shared a post on X featuring ChatGPT’s P4P rankings, where Islam Makhachev held the top spot. Jon Jones came in at #2, followed by Alexander Volkanovski at #3, Leon Edwards at #4, and Sean O’Malley at #5. Fans were shocked to see top fighters and former champions like Alex Pereira and Ilia Topuria, along with current champ Merab Dvalishvili, missing from the top five. Reacting to the rankings, one fan simply wrote, “Terrible.”
One fan suggested that ChatGPT needs revised data.
Another fan said that Makhachev is the only one ranked correctly.
One fan suggested that the list might be outdated.
In the official rankings, Ilia Topuria is currently ranked #3. Meanwhile, Alex Pereira dropped to #8 after his recent loss to Magomed Ankalaev. Now, Topuria has defended his featherweight title and moved up to lightweight, aiming for a second belt.
Daniel Cormier Rejects Ilia Topuria’s Claim of Makhachev and Oliveira Fearing Him

Ilia Topuria
Topuria’s move to lightweight has turned heads, especially since it’s already one of the UFC’s toughest divisions. While making the transition, Topuria claimed that Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira fear him because no one has shown interest in fighting him. However, UFC veteran Daniel Cormier pushed back on this claim, stating that fear isn’t a factor for elite lightweights. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Cormier said,
“Ilia Topuria might strike some fear in most, or some, but Islam’s not afraid of him. And I’ll be honest with you: Neither is Justin Gaethje. Neither is Charles Oliveira. Neither is Dustin Poirier, or Michael Chandler. Those guys aren’t afraid of each other.”
Cormier acknowledged that Makhachev might hesitate due to past criticism about facing smaller or unprepared opponents. However, he believes a fight between them would be a huge draw, and if money is the focus, the UFC should consider making it happen.
