Trump roasted after shocking footage shows the president ‘cheating’ on golf course
Donald Trump is being roasted online for allegedly ‘cheating’ on the golf course.
It’s no secret that the president’s favorite sporting pastime is golf, after having acquired more than a dozen golf courses worldwide before even dipping his toes into politics.
Since returning to the White House in January this year, Trump has spent a significant amount of time out of office on lavish golfing trips – at least 45 days out of 189 days this year – while in March, it was revealed he had popped to his favorite waterfront mansion in Florida a staggering six times in three months with his clubs to Mar-a-Lago.
However, the POTUS is facing some intense backlash as a leaked clip from his recent dabble at his luxury Turnberry resort in Scotland appears to show him ‘cheating’.
It’s not the first time the president has been accused of cheating at golf
In the clip posted on Twitter, Trump’s caddy can be seen walking slightly ahead where he appears to drop the ball behind him just as the president approaches while steering his golf cart.
Dozens have since swarmed social media to give their opinion on the footage as the phrase ‘commander in cheat’ shot to the top of trending discussions.
“Trump’s golf game is as dishonorable as his political game,” said one critic on Twitter, while another wrote on Reddit: “Well if that ain’t a perfect metaphor.”
Meanwhile, dozens more suggested Trump is turning a blind-eye to the political storm at home, notably the sky-high costs of groceries, while on his four-day trip to the country, which so far has included two rounds of golf across the weekend with apparent trade talks in between.

Trump took to the course prior to meeting EU Commission president Ursula von der Leyen to talk about tariffs, where a US-EU trade deal was finally agreed.
He is also due to meet UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and First Minister John Swinney today (Monday, July 28), quite literally on the golf course, to coincide with his plans to open another second 18-hole golf course at his Menie estate in Aberdeenshire – and to talk more trade deals.
It’s not the first time the 79-year-old has faced accusations that he doesn’t play fair. Novelist, Rick Reilly, delved into Trump’s alleged deception on the course with his book, Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump.
Reilly writes in the book: “At Winged Foot, where Trump is a member, the caddies got so used to seeing him kick his ball back onto the fairway they came up with a nickname for him: Pele.”
Famous faces such as Samuel L. Jackson and LPGA player Suzann Pettersen have also accused the POTUS in the past of allegedly cheating.
Trump has repeatedly denied the allegations, while the White House has described his Scotland visit as a ‘working trip.’
