Trump orders nuclear submarines ‘to be positioned in appropriate regions’ after comments from Russia’s ex-president
Donald Trump has deployed nuclear submarines ‘to be positioned in appropriate regions’ in response to comments made by Russia’s former president.
The POTUS is apparently ramping up his threats against Russia amid its ongoing conflict with neighboring Ukraine and alleged nuclear threat.
Apparently, Moscow is in no rush to come to a ceasefire agreement, and instead appears to be taunting the US president for his involvement.
Now, Trump has weighed in on the matter, going so far as to reveal US nuclear submarines have been moved and deployed to the ‘appropriate regions’ in response to a heated exchange of words.

Taking to his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: “Based on the highly provocative statements of the Former President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, who is now the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, I have ordered two Nuclear Submarines to be positioned in the appropriate regions, just in case these foolish and inflammatory statements are more than just that.
“Words are very important, and can often lead to unintended consequences, I hope this will not be one of those instances. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
The warning comes after some intense exchanges between Trump and Medvedev in recent days, leading on from when the POTUS said Russia had just ’10 days’ to agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine or face financial sanctions in the form of tariffs.
Dmitry Medvedev has been in an intense exchange with Trump on social media this week
In response, Medvedev, who was the president of Russia from 2008 to 2012 and the prime minister from 2012 to 2020, accused Trump of playing a ‘game of ultimatums’ and seemingly threatened the US.
In a post on Twitter, he wrote: “Trump’s playing the ultimatum game with Russia: 50 days or 10.”
He then urged the POTUS to ‘remember two things’, adding: “1. Russia isn’t Israel or even Iran.
“2. Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war.
“Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country. Don’t go down the Sleepy Joe road!”
Amid the tense stand-off, Trump called Medvedev a ‘failed former president,’ writing that he should also ‘watch his words’ and is ‘entering very dangerous territory.’

Trump wrote: “Russia and the USA do almost no business together. Let’s keep it that way, and tell Medvedev, the failed former President of Russia, who thinks he’s still President, to watch his words.
“He’s entering very dangerous territory!”
The rise in hostilities come as Trump has previously urged Russia to agree to end the war with Ukraine by next Friday (August 8), or he will impose a raft of economic sanctions on Moscow.
