Trump has shocking response to reporter who asked him if he’s going to ‘war’ with US cities
Trump snapped at a reporter after she questioned him about his latest social media post that alluded to a war in the US.
Donald Trump continues to be a contentious figure and has sparked ire amongst his fiercest critics from his comments on social media.
Over the weekend, Trump shared an image that had many concerned the US president would be getting aggressive with his anti-immigration stance across the country.
Trump shared on his Truth Social Page an AI-generated parody image of Apocalypse Now indicating his plans for Chicago.
The caption read: “I love the smell of deportations in the morning.
“Chicago about to find out why its called the Department of War.”
Donald Trump’s AI image on his Truth Social Page has sparked concern
This image came after reports that Trump had signed an executive order to rename the Pentagon as the Department of War.
On Sunday, Trump took questions from reporters on the White House lawn, and he appeared to snap at a reporter.
Trump was asked whether his post meant that he was going to war on Chicago and replied: “If you say that darling, that is fake news. Listen, be quiet.
“You don’t listen, you never listen, that is why you are second rate, we are not going to war.
“We are going to clean up our cities, we are going to clean them up so they don’t kill five people every weekend.
“That is not war, that is common sense.”
Trump has been criticized for his rhetoric regarding immigration in the US
Despite Trump’s comments, he has still received pushback from his political opponents and people on social media for his rhetoric surrounding the use of ICE in cities.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker took to Twitter and wrote in response: “The President of the United States is threatening to go to war with an American city. This is not a joke.
“This is not normal. Donald Trump isn’t a strongman, he’s a scared man. Illinois won’t be intimidated by a wannabe dictator.”
A clip of the interaction with the reporter has also spread to Reddit where people condemned Trump’s behavior.
One person commented: “He’s a coward who is trying to act tough by violating the citizens civil rights.”
Another said: “Someone that condescending should immediately be disqualified to run for leadership.”
With a third writing: “Its a nasty question. She’s challenging him. NOBODY is allowed to challenge him. Either softball questions or high praise or its perceived as nasty. What a tiny fragile pig he is.”
With another simply adding: “Common sense would be working WITH the cities not INVADING them.”
