Throwback To When Joe Rogan Recalled A Referee’s Insane Reaction To Alex Pereira’s Brutal Power

Joe Rogan and Alex Pereira
Alex Pereira might have recently lost his UFC light heavyweight title. However, his title reign was one of the most dominant ones in the history of the UFC. Defending his title thrice in a year, ‘Poatan’ knocked out all of his opponents. And his aura inside the octagon was such that even the referees were astounded by it! Last year, Joe Rogan recalled a similar incident when Marc Goddard was left in awe.
Alex Pereira faced Khalil Rountree Jr. in one of the most brutal fights in 2024. While Rountree Jr. had some good shots hitting Pereira, the former champion hit back at him with his strong punches. And this is where Marc Goddard was surprised. According to Rogan, Goddard stated that he could not recall a fighter with Pereira’s punching power.
“I was in the octagon after the fight, and Marc Goddard came up to me and he said, ‘I’ve been doing this for 20 years,’ and he goes, ‘The way he hits people,’ he goes,’ The sound is like nothing I’ve ever heard before.’ He said it’s ungodly. That’s what he kept saying. It’s ungodly,” said Rogan.
Surely, Goddard was not wrong. After all, nobody could forget the beating that Rountree Jr. took in that match. Meanwhile, with a not-so-dominant performance, Pereira recently lost his belt to Magomed Ankalaev. And while the rumors of a rematch are going strong, the new champion has issued a fresh warning.
Alex Pereira Warned By Magomed Ankalaev

Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev
Alex Pereira looked like a shadow of himself when he faced Magomed Ankalaev. While Pereira is known for his attacking game, he kept going back to the Russian. However, even with such an off-color performance, the bout, according to fans, should have gone in favor of Pereira. But when that did not happen, and Ankalaev won, the UFC fans were furious. With the speculations of a rematch circulating, Ankalaev recently came up with some strong words.
“Alex, I am ready to give you a rematch if you really want it. Just be prepared for a storm in the next fight, storm that you never faced in this sport,” said Ankalaev.
Thus, tensions are evidently brewing between the two once again. What will happen next remains to be seen.
