Sophie Turner Shares Unique Perk of Being a Young Mom

Sophie Turner—who shares kids Willa and Delphine with ex-husband Joe Jonas—detailed the upsides to experiencing motherhood in her 20s.

Sophie Turner is getting real about having kids in her 20s.

The Game of Thrones alum—who shares daughters Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, with ex-husband Joe Jonas—opened up about the benefits of having her kids early in life.

“It’s really nice,” Sophie, 29, told The Guardian in an interview published Jan. 16. “I’m not worrying about my biological clock and all that sort of stuff.”

And having her little girls also allowed her to focus on family life.

“It just felt like the right break to focus on me, because I’d been a character for so long,” she explained. “Nesting and being at home was amazing.”

But her much-needed break from acting also presented career challenges.

“But the flipside of it, and Covid didn’t help, was that this was a big break from the career,” she added, “And I’ve had to try to rebuild, in a way.”

The X-Men: Dark Phoenix actress continued, “You don’t realize how important momentum is in a career, and I stalled it a bit.”

After Joe, 36, and Sophie finalized their divorce in September 2024, the pair have been open about their harmonious co-parenting relationship, despite previously undergoing a tense custody battle in 2023.

“I have a beautiful coparenting relationship that I’m really grateful for,” Joe told Jay Shetty in a TikTok video taken during Jay’s On Purpose Live Tour in May 2025. “Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true.”

The Jonas Brothers bandmember also emphasized how Sophie couldn’t be a better role model to their daughters.

“As young girls, looking up to great women is what I want for them,” he explained. “I think what values I want for them are to be open-minded and have a big heart, be able to walk into any room and feel confidence and know that they can do literally anything they want.”

And although the former couple have gotten on the same page when it comes to raising their little ones, Sophie previously got candid about why she regrets how the pair’s divorce went down.

“I’m unhappy with the way everything played out, especially when it comes to my children,” she told British Vogue in May 2024. “They’re the victims in all of this. But I think we’re doing the best we can. I’m confident that we can figure it out. Joe is a great father to our children and that’s all that I can ask for.”

Ready for a Comeback

Just weeks after Sophie Turner confirmed her split from Joe Jonas after four years of marriage in September 2023, the Game of Thrones alum shook her breakup off with a girls night out alongside pal Taylor Swift in New York City.

After the former couple filed for divorce, their legal battle became thorny, with the Do Revenge actress filing a lawsuit against the musician over their two kids Willa Jonas and Delphine Jonas to be returned to England. (Joe’s rep slammed the suit as “misleading.”) However, the pair reached a temporary agreement that October.

Moving On

Later that month, Sophie signaled that perhaps a new relationship was coming—and moved on to a new chapter in her personal life.

In fact, she began dating British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson, with whom she was photographed engaging in PDA during a Paris trip.

Ready to embrace a new year with a new lease on life, Sophie declared in January 2024 that the previous year was “the year of girlies,” adding that the forecast for the year ahead instead “is looking fairly consistent.”
