In a recent sit-down with the Elevate Network, Thomas was asked the question that’s probably on a lot of minds: would she date an athlete? Her answer cut through the glitz and hype.

“I don’t think I have a type,” Thomas said. “I like guys with a big heart. That’s the first thing I look for — a heart and a brain. Obviously, I’d love a nice boy and athletic and tall. Deep down though, if you have a big brain and a big heart, I will love you.”

While she isn’t closing the door on dating athletes, it’s clear that for Thomas, emotional depth and intelligence matter more than profession or status. Her response hints at someone grounded, even as her public profile continues to rise.

Earlier this year, Thomas revealed to PEOPLE that she broke off a past relationship to focus on herself. “I had no problems with him at all. He was great,” she said. “I just broke up with him because I was like, ‘I just need and want more time with myself.’”
