Riley Gaines says she wraps her newborn baby in BULLETPROOF BLANKET because threats to her life are so severe
Conservative activist Riley Gaines said she had to wrap her newborn daughter in a bulletproof blanket because threats on her life have become so intense.
Gaines, an anti-trans activist, shared the bizarre detail on Fox News’ Outnumbered on Wednesday as she and the hosts discussed the ongoing argument given to the US Supreme Court that could result in a ban on trans-identified males from competing in female sports.
Riley, who welcomed her three-month-old daughter Margot in September, brought up how her life has changed since having her and being in her high-profile role.
‘I’ll tell you, having a little human being, especially a little daughter who’s here with me today… She goes everywhere with me. She’s been to 16 states, she’s met the president. She’s gonna be super dangerous at two truths and a lie one day,’ Gaines, 25, joked.
While the hosts laughed at her comment, Gaines quickly took a serious turn in the conversation.
‘She was there with me on the Supreme Court steps. And honestly, just as you said, there’s a level of emotion to it, especially when you have to consider the fact [that] you have a three-month-old baby that you have to wrap in a bulletproof blanket because of the threats that were present there yesterday,’ Gaines said, appearing to get a little emotional.
Bulletproof blankets have grown popular over the years amid an increasing surge in gun violence. They typically range from $500 to $2,000.
A hearing was held on Tuesday that involved two cases brought by transgender athletes challenging laws in their home states that ban them from competing in women’s sports events.

Gaines has long been vocal about her strong disdain for transgender athletes competing in female sports, and has made it clear that she is not backing down any time soon.
She recently told Newsweek that although she thinks it’s ‘wild’ that the Supreme Court has to decide the issue at hand, she believes the discussion is ‘long overdue.’
‘I’m confident that we have a Supreme Court makeup that will consist of enough people who understand that men and women are physically, biologically and anatomically different,’ Gaines told the outlet.
The specific cases brought forward were by two transgender girls, one who is in college in Idaho, and another who is in the fifth grad in West Virginia.
Both of them want to join their school’s track teams, but state law has banned them from doing so.
In the Idaho case, Lindsay Hecox, 25, sued over the state’s first-in-the-nation ban for the chance to try out for the women’s track and cross-country teams at Boise State University in Idaho.
She didn’t make either squad because ‘she was too slow,’ her lawyer, Kathleen Hartnett, told the court Tuesday, but she competed in club-level soccer and running.
Becky Pepper-Jackson, a 15-year-old high school sophomore, was also in the courtroom Tuesday.

She has been taking puberty-blocking medication, has publicly identified as a girl since she was eight, and has been issued a West Virginia birth certificate recognizing her as female.
She is the only transgender person who has sought to compete in girls’ sports in the state.
Both are claiming that the state laws violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution and federal statutes in place that prohibit discrimination against women in sports.
The hearing lasted more than three hours, as justices acknowledged the difficulty of the case.
A final decision is set to be made in the summer.
More than two dozen Republican-led states have adopted bans on female transgender athletes. Lower courts had ruled for the transgender athletes who challenged laws in Idaho and West Virginia.
The legal fight is playing out against the backdrop of a broad effort by President Donald Trump to target transgender Americans, beginning on the first day of his second term and including the ouster of transgender people from the military and declaring that gender is immutable and determined at birth.

The justices are evaluating claims of sex discrimination lodged by transgender people versus the need for fair competition for women and girls, the main argument made by the states.
Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who coached his daughters in girls basketball, seemed concerned about a ruling that might undo the effects of Title IX, which has produced dramatic growth in girls and women’s sports. Kavanaugh called Title IX an ‘amazing’ and ‘inspiring’ success.
Some girls and women might lose a medal in a competition with transgender athletes, which Kavanaugh called a harm ‘we can’t sweep aside.’
The three liberal justices seemed focused on trying to marshal a court majority in support of a narrow ruling that would allow the individual transgender athletes involved in the cases to prevail.
A ruling for West Virginia and Idaho would effectively apply to the other two dozen Republican-led states with similar laws.
