President Zelenskyy reveals what his relationship with Trump is really like

The Ukrainian leader made it clear that that his relationship with Trump has been improving.

Donald Trump has previously made commitments to help end the war between Ukraine and Russia.

However, the American leader has also had very public disagreements and arguments with Ukrainian leader Volodymr Zelenskyy on making this happen.

Earlier this year in February, Zelensky visited the White House and the pair really got into it, in front of the press, no less.

It seemed to stem from vice president JD Vance accusing Zelenskyy of being disrespectful towards Trump.

The Ukrainian leader hit back and called on Vance to visit Ukraine and see how they would feel and if it would differ from how they do now.

Trump seemed to take issue with this comment and snapped and Zelenskyy.

Trump and Zelenskyy had a passionate argument in the White House earlier this year

He said: “You’re in no position to dictate what we’re going to feel. We’re going to feel very good. We’re going to feel very good and very strong. You’re, right now, not in a very good position, you’ve allowed yourself to be in a very bad position.

“You don’t have the cards right now. With us, you start having cards … You’re gambling with the lives of millions of people! You’re gambling with World War III! You’re gambling with World War III. And what you’re doing is very disrespectful to the country – this country.”

Following this, many outside viewers came to the conclusion that the two leaders were not on the best of terms.

Zelenskyy has seemingly addressed these concerns in a new statement, and argued that he and his relationship with Trump is better than ever.

Speaking on Fox News, Zelensky said that one of his biggest takeaways from the United Nations General Assembly, which he was attending, is the improved relationship he and his team have with Trump.

Zelenskyy insisted his relationship with Trump is better than it was before

Zelenskyy said: “The positions of our teams are closer than any time before.

“Details of the situation on the battlefield from intelligence of both countries are similar.”

Speaking specifically about his relationship with Trump, he added: “I think we have better relation than before and I think we didn’t have close relation [before] because we didn’t have maybe time, I don’t know.”

He also addressed another issue; that he and Trump seemed to disagree on exchanging lands with Russia in order to end the conflict. Zelenskyy added that he believes Trump’s opinion on this matter has shifted.

He added: “It’s important that today we had a good conversation with President Trump, and I think he understands, for today, that we can’t just swap territories. It’s not fair, it’s not real.”
