Oleksandr Usyk and Alex Pereira

Fans love watching boxing and MMA crossover fights, the biggest being Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather, which generated millions in revenue. Now, they might get another blockbuster matchup as boxing heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk hints at a potential showdown with UFC champ Alex Pereira.

Usyk made history by becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion in over two decades after defeating Tyson Fury in May 2024. With only two fights left in his career, Usyk recently hinted at a potential crossover bout with UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. In an interview with TNT Sports, he stated that he would first face the winner of Daniel Dubois vs. Joseph Parker on February 22, but a “show fight” with Pereira could be next, saying,

“First, whoever wins the next fight on 22nd February [between Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker]. But next maybe a show fight with Alex Pereira. Maybe, why not? Alex wants to.”

Alex Pereira is set to defend his light heavyweight title against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313. However, ‘Poatan’ hasn’t shown much interest in transitioning to boxing recently. Fans might have to wait for a strong confirmation before this potential super fight with the Ukraine boxer becomes a reality.

Alex Pereira Shuts Down Jiri Prochazka’s Claims of Voodoo and Dark Energy

Alex Pereira gives unfiltered response to Jiri Prochazka's black magic and voodoo allegations repeated on Joe Rogan's show: "I'm a god-fearing man"

Prochazka’s knockout of Jamahal Hill secured him a title shot, likely against the winner of Pereira vs. Ankalaev. However, Prochazka has accused Pereira of using black magic in their last fight. In response, Pereira denied the claims, stating he is a man of faith and urging Prochazka to focus on the fight rather than superstitions. Prochazka reiterated his claims about Pereira using black magic on The Joe Rogan Experience. Pereira responded, saying:

“All respect to him, but I’m a god-fearing man. I have god in my heart. If we go and fight again… if he will put all of this to the side and just focus on fighting each other, I think we’ll give a much better fight to the crowd.“

Pereira has shut down the black magic claims once again. For now, he’s locked in on UFC 311, where fans can expect another exciting showdown.
