MMA fighter Guilherme Vasconcelos’s cause of death revealed after his death at age 38

The cause of death for former UFC and Bellator mixed-martial arts fighter Guilherme ‘Bomba’ Vasconcelos has been revealed.

According to the case report (obtained by TMZ), the 38-year-old Brazilian fighter died by suicide.

Police were dispatched to his home in Illinois around 9:00 in the morning on October 15 after a woman found him in the garage.

Authorities reviewed security camera footage at the property and determined that Vasconcelos took his own life the prior evening at around 11:45pm. He wasn’t found until the next morning.

A sweep of the house recovered multiple vials of anabolic steroids, with two mostly empty and two unopened. However, a suicide note was not found.

Following a toxicology report, the only drug found in his system was caffeine.

Vasconcelos put up a record of 10-6 across his MMA career.

Guilherme’s uncle, Walter, announced his death at the time. He said: ‘We were looking forward to your visit for Christmas, which will no longer happen.

‘Life is fleeting, and we woke up to this devastating news. What a time we live in.

‘We pray for you! May God, who can do all things, welcome you in His infinite mercy and comfort all who have always loved you!’

Vasconcelos and Lovato were first spotted together in 2017 as they celebrated New Year’s Eve. They also saw a film together on New Year’s Day.

They parted ways in the following July and reports at the time said their relationship ‘had run its course’.

Vasconcelos left behind a one-year-old daughter, who he shared with model Kayla Lauren.
