Merab Dvalishvili is riding high on confidence at the moment. So much so that he thinks he can even take down a gorilla! The UFC bantamweight champion is currently awaiting his second title defense. Having initially won the title from Sean O’Malley, Dvalishvili had one of the most brutal fights of his career. Facing Umar Nurmagomedov, the Georgian-American fighter proved his mettle by successfully defending his title. And now, he is ready to take on a gorilla!

During a recent interaction, Dvalishvili was asked whether he could take down a gorilla. His confident reply surprised the UFC fans. The bantamweight champion stated that he is stronger and more intelligent than the gorilla, so it will be easy for him.

“1 gorilla? That’s easy bro. I’m smart, I’m strong, I’m training every day… Shoot, take him down, easy. I think I can take 1 gorilla,” Dvalishvili said.

Surely, this was one of the many instances where Dvalishvili showed his funny side. Even during the game against O’Malley, the champion made the crowd crack up as he kissed ‘Suga’ on the back and acted funny while inside the octagon. Meanwhile, keeping his funny demeanor intact, Dvalishvili recently took a dig at Sean O’Malley.

Merab Dvalishvili poked fun during the UFC 311 podcast at Umar Nurmagomedov. Referring to an old picture of Umar and his mates, Dvalishvili cracked the ‘Jacuzzi Time’ joke. Now, ahead of his rematch against Sean O’Malley, the bantamweight champion, once again, pulled the reference.

“I had a good time in the jacuzzi with Sean O’Malley. Hopefully, I’m going to win again, and we’re going to spend more time in the jacuzzi,” Dvalishvili said.

Thus, with Dvalishvili appearing in quite a relaxed state at the moment, it now remains to be seen how things pan out in the future.
