The upcoming fight night is heating up as Marvin Vettori looks to make a statement with his performance. Vettori is set to clash with Roman Dolidze at UFC Vegas 104. After nearly two years away from the octagon, ‘The Italian Dream’ returns this Saturday with his sights set on a title shot.

The 31-year-old last stepped into the octagon in June 2023, facing a unanimous decision loss against Jared Cannonier. Since then, he has made a significant career move by shifting from Las Vegas to the American Top Team in Florida. Vettori believes this change has helped him grow as a fighter and is eager to prove it at UFC Vegas 104. During the pre-fight press conference, he said,

“The rest is extra. For me, it’s about getting back, feeling good, and putting all the pieces together. It’s been a while. The rest is extra. We’ll see.” He further added, “I’m going to be a contender and get that title.”

After almost two years of setbacks, Marvin Vettori is finally set to return at UFC Vegas 104. The former title challenger switched to the American Top Team in Florida, seeking improvement after his loss to Jared Cannonier. However, his comeback was delayed due to a severe shoulder injury that required surgery in June 2024. Vettori admitted the recovery process was mentally challenging. In the pre-fight press conference, the 31-year-old said.

“The shoulder, man, every angle you have to train because otherwise you’d be good here, but out here is weak. I’m pretty stubborn, I’m able to get after it, but I had moments, I was like, ‘F*cking hell, is it going to be back to normal? Do I have to figure some other way to fight?’ But sure enough, people around you and doctors tell you that eventually you’ll see.”

He often wondered if his shoulder would fully recover. But with his team’s and doctors’ support, ‘The Italian Dream’ is now ready to prove himself in the octagon. All eyes will be on Vettori as he takes on Roman Dolidze.
