Lil Jon’s Son DJ Young Slade, 27, Reported Missing in Georgia

Lil Jon’s 27-year-old son Nathan Smith, known professionally as DJ Young Slade, was reported missing Feb. 3, and may be in a “disoriented” state, according to a missing person alert issued by police.

Lil Jon is searching for his son.

DJ Young Slade (born Nathan Smith) has been reported missing in Georgia, according to a missing person alert issued by the Milton Police Department Feb. 3.

Prior to his disappearance, the “Turn Down for What” rapper’s son ran out of his home on foot and does not have a phone, per the alert, which also notes that the 27-year-old might be “disoriented and in need of assistance.”

In a Feb. 4 statement to E! News, Lil Jon (real name Jonathan H. Smith) and his family shared their wish for Nathan’s safe return.

“The family is asking for privacy at this time,” the statement read. “We are also asking for continued prayers for Nathan to come home safe.”

E! News has reached out to DJ Young Slade’s manager but has yet to hear back, while the Milton Police Department confirmed he is still missing.

Like his dad, DJ Young Slade showed an interest in music from a young age, which led him to pursue the craft professionally.

“I remember changing his diapers, he couldn’t even talk yet, couldn’t walk yet, crawling around and coming in the back when I’m making music and hitting on the drum pads,” Lil Jon told Paste magazine in 2017, “and now he’s producing his own music in the Clive Davis program at NYU.”

But the Grammy winner stopped short of taking credit for the DJ’s foray into the music business, noting that his son’s technical abilities were primarily developed in college.

“He really knows how to engineer, and his stuff sounds really good,” he raved at the time. “So with him and these kids, it’s amazing to see those ideas and see people grow.”

And while Lil Jon’s hits like “Get Low” have remained party staples through the years, the 55-year-old admitted his son was selective about putting them on his own playlists.

“He knows it’s one of those songs you have to play,” he told OK magazine in 2024. “We haven’t talked about how he feels about it, but I’m sure he likes it.”
