In the UFC, it’s not just about the fighters delivering an epic fight, but also about their ability to draw in fans, whether it’s filling the arena or getting viewers to tune in on TV. Fans see fighters as the ones who create buzz and drive numbers. Leon Edwards recently revealed that the UFC tasked him with selling out the UFC London card but didn’t give him the opportunity to fight Belal Muhammad in a rematch, which disappointed him.

‘Rocky’ believes the UFC built the London event around him, arguing that if they removed him from the card, it wouldn’t have the same excitement for UK fans. Edwards also pointed out that having a fight between two fighters from different countries wouldn’t make sense when the crowd is mostly British.

“If you take me off the card and leave Jack on it to fight Sean, it just wouldn’t sell as well, because it doesn’t make sense for the UK crowd to go watch an Australian and American guy fight for the spot. So I understand it in that sense, but I also feel I deserve the rematch with Belal. But that’ll come after this fight,” Edwards said.

Even though Edwards understands the UFC’s choice, he still feels he deserves a rematch with Belal. He’s confident it will happen after his next fight, so he’s focused on that for now. He sees himself as a veteran in the sport, knowing that the UFC sometimes has to make tough choices to keep the fans excited.

Muhammad recently threw some serious shade at Edwards, accusing him of making excuses. He didn’t stop there, though—Muhammad boldly predicted what would happen in Edwards’ next fight. He stated that once Brady takes Edwards down a couple of times, he’ll be able to lock in a submission. Muhammad went on to claim that Edwards’ mental game is his biggest weakness, suggesting that once the pressure mounts, Edwards will start reliving the tough moments from their previous encounter.

This prediction definitely wasn’t something Edwards would’ve wanted to hear, as Muhammad doesn’t hold back when it comes to calling out his opponents. Indeed, it will be interesting to see if he will get a rematch against Muhammad, which he claims to miss because of the the UFC London Card.
