On the contrary, Oliveira and Topuria have been going verbally back and forth in recent times.

Likewise, the Spaniard recently said that Oliveira was scared to fight him. Such a comment did not sit well with Oliveira. The former UFC champion called out Topuria and stated that he was being disrespectful.

However, reacting to the situation, ‘El Matador’ clarified his stance by saying that he never meant to disrespect Oliveira.

Topuria stated, “I haven’t dissed [Charles], I’ve told the truth. He has 10 losses… He says [lightweight] is the toughest division there is. When he was fighting at 145, Cub Swanson beat him up.”

Meanwhile, Oliveira recently devised a bold take with their verbal feud picking up pace. He claimed that he could knock Topuria out!

“Whoever I get told to fight, I’m going to fight. I have nothing but respect for Ilia Topuria, but this is lightweight. It’s the most difficult division you have ever seen and I have power in my hands. I believe in my Jiu-Jitsu, but I believe that I could knock Ilia Topuria out.” Olivera said.
