Horror in Manhattan as young woman’s naked body is found dumped on sidewalk
Police have launched an investigation after a young woman’s lifeless, naked body was found dumped on a New York City street.
The unidentified woman was found in East Harlem, near the intersection of East 124st Street and Park Avenue, on Monday just before 7pm, the Daily Mail has learned.
She was unconscious and unresponsive on the sidewalk when officers arrived, the NYPD said. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
Her body has since been transferred to the city medical examiner’s office, which will carry out an autopsy to determine her cause of death.
Police have not yet classified the incident as a homicide and said their investigation is ongoing.
Little is known about the case, but sources close to the probe told WABC that the body was found inside a plastic bag.
The woman, who appeared to be in her 20s, had been nude and had blood on her head, the insiders added.

He reportedly felt the plastic bag, which had been placed among a pile of trash, and realized there was a body inside.
Sources told the New York Post that the victim’s remains had been tossed into a black garbage bag, which was then shoved into a green duffel bag.
The duffel, the insiders alleged, was secured with a drawstring.

NYPD did not mention a plastic bag or duffel in their statement to the Mail. A follow up request for further information did not receive an immediate response.
An MTA police spokesman told the Daily Mail that the ‘MTA Police have no reports of responding to anything of that nature.’
‘NYPD has lead on this,’ they added.
