Hilary Duff emerges for first time since tragic death of Lizzie McGuire co-star Robert Carradine

Hilary Duff was spotted on an outing in Los Angeles on Friday – just days after the tragic passing of her former Lizzie McGuire castmate Robert Carradine at age 71.

The 38-year-old actress, who recently led the heartbreaking tributes following the late actor’s death, kept it low-key as she stopped by Rage Tattoo to pick up a few items during the daytime excursion.

Carradine’s brother confirmed earlier this week on Monday that the star died by suicide after a ‘nearly two-decade battle with bipolar disorder.’

Duff donned a pastel yellow tank top while a yellow cardigan was loosely tied around her neck.

She additionally slipped into a pair of light blue jeans as well as comfy sneakers for the errand run.

Her locks were parted in the middle and pulled back into a simple bun, revealing a pair of mini earrings.

The star easily carried a large Gucci purse over her shoulder and carried her phone in one of her hands.

Duff opted for a classy makeup look which comprised of a layer of mascara to her lashes as well as a warm blush to her cheekbones. A darker, rosy pink tint was worn on her lips for a final touch.

The former Disney channel actress was seen strolling along a sidewalk with a shopping bag from Rage Tattoo before heading to her next destination.

Carradine’s brother Keith and family confirmed the star’s death on Monday in a statement to Deadline.

‘It is with profound sadness that we must share that our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and brother Robert Carradine has passed away.

‘In a world that can feel so dark, Bobby was always a beacon on light to everyone around him.’

They continued, ‘We are bereft at the loss of this beautiful soul and want to acknowledge Bobby’s valiant struggle against his nearly two-decade battle with Bipolar Disorder.

‘We hope his journey can shine a light and encourage addressing the stigma that attaches to mental illness.

‘At this time we ask for the privacy to grieve this unfathomable loss. With gratitude for your understanding and compassion.’

Keith expressed that there is ‘no shame’ with mental illness.

Additional details about Carradine’s passing came to light on Friday according to a case file from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner obtained by the Daily Mail.

The late actor died at a hospital in Los Angeles and his death was caused by hanging which caused an anoxic brain injury, brought on by total oxygen deprivation.

Carradine’s acting career began at an early age when he appeared in the 1972 film The Cowboys with John Wayne.

The early 2000s showed him portraying Duff’s on-screen dad in Lizzie McGuire.

His final acting credit before his death had been the 2026 horror comedy titled Skate To Hell and he had additional projects in the works, according to his official IMDB page.
