Halle Berry is engaged! Oscar winner, 59, confirms she’s set to wed longtime boyfriend Van Hunt… after three failed marriages

After three failed marriages, Halle Berry still believes in lasting love and she revealed Thursday that she and her Grammy-winning boyfriend Van Hunt are engaged.

‘Well, there’s some confusion that he asked to marry me and I said no,’ the 59-year-old Oscar winner said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

‘No, that’s not the case. I did not say no. We just don’t have a date.’

After a beat, Berry confirmed: ‘But of course I said I would marry him! He did put a little ring on it.’

‘Little’ is funny considering the sheer size of the unique bauble featuring a center diamond surrounded by a square cut design on a large gold band.

The Crime 101 action star was referring to her interview with The Cut on Monday where she revealed the 55-year-old neo soul artist had proposed last June, and she ‘hadn’t said yes’ but would make an exception for ‘health reasons’ due to the access that comes with a legal spouse.

Berry was first set up with Hunt through his brother during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020, but they only texted and talked on the phone until their first date four months later.

‘After my third divorce, people started to say, “What’s wrong with her? She’s crazy. She can’t keep a man,”‘ the Re-spin co-founder recalled to the mag.

‘I pretty much stopped doing interviews for a decade because I got tired of the same old story. It was always: “Poor Halle — Unlucky in Love Again.”‘

Berry continued: ‘And I would always argue, “Who says I want to keep a man if he’s not the right man?” I’m in the best relationship I have ever had.’

This will mark the bride-to-be’s fourth time walking down the aisle, having divorced her first husband – baseball player David Justice – in 1997 after three years of marriage.

Berry’s marriage to second ex-husband – singer Eric Benét – ended in 2005 after two years of wedded bliss (and his reported rehab stint for sex addiction).

Miss Ohio 1986 was then married to her Dark Tide co-star Olivier Martinez for two years, which included welcoming their 12-year-old son Maceo and she reportedly pays him $8K/month in child support.

‘I realized I was just pulling in mirror images of myself — people who were broken, people with childhood wounds that weren’t addressed,’ the daughter of an abusive, alcoholic father explained.

‘I had to face the pain of what happened to me as a kid and release my secrets. I had to get it out of my body so I could fully love myself and show up for my own children. I cried many a night.’
