Dana White’s Favorite Irish Boxer Hints at Jumping to the UFC for MMA Run

Dana White
No doubt the boxing world has been buzzing ever since Dana White announced he’s stepping into the game. While the UFC boss caught everyone off guard with the move, his rising star, Callum Walsh, is making noise of his own. Walsh recently revealed that he’s eyeing an MMA crossover and wants to fight under the UFC banner at least once in his career. From boxing’s bright future to the Octagon? Looks like Walsh is ready to follow in his boss’s footsteps and blur the lines between the two worlds.
In a recent chat with Inside Fighting, Callum Walsh shared that during his recovery time, he started dabbling in Jiu-Jitsu and really enjoyed the experience. Already a huge UFC fan, Walsh admitted that stepping into the Octagon is something he’s always wanted to do. Even if it’s just once, competing in the UFC is high on his bucket list.
He said, “So while I was recovering I was messing around doing a bit of Jiu-Jitsu and stuff like that. It was cool and I enjoyed it. I am a massive UFC fan. I’ve said this before, it is something on my bucket list. I would love to fight even if it is just one fight in the UFC.”
No doubt, it’s rare to see boxers take the leap into MMA, and for good reason. The risks are on another level, with fighters having to deal with wrestling, Muay Thai, and a mix of other martial arts that go way beyond just throwing hands. Stepping into the Octagon isn’t just dangerous—it’s a whole different game that takes years to master. That’s why most boxers stay in their lane. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if he really jumps inside the cage and fight at Dana White’s promotion.
Dana White Rejects MMA Crossover Fights for His New Boxing League

UFC 2025: Dana White
Before the league even hit the scene, Dana White made it crystal clear: the TKO boxing league isn’t about blending MMA with traditional boxing. While there might be chatter about fighters from the MMA world trying to throw down in the ring, White is all about keeping it pure. According to him, the league is strictly based on classic boxing, with no room for crossover bouts between MMA fighters and boxers.
A fresh chapter in combat sports is about to open, and all eyes will be on the unfolding matchups within this new boxing league. The big question remains whether it can rival the cultural impact of the UFC or even replicate the success of other Dana White initiatives. Ultimately, its growth will be driven by a combination of standout athletes, riveting contests, and a powerful promotional strategy.
