When UFC President Dana White and Lara Trump sat down for a light-hearted exchange, nobody expected the UFC boss to crack a joke at Donald Trump’s expense. But that’s exactly what happened in a video shared on Lara Trump’s Instagram, and it got the reaction you’d expect, laughter from the former president’s daughter-in-law.

In a clip meant to promote White’s appearance on her My View podcast, Lara playfully pressed him with a question that pitted two of his favorite people against each other. “You’ve gone viral for your love of Jon Jones,” she said. “But if Jon Jones and Donald Trump walked in a room together, who walks out?”

White, who has openly supported Trump for years and spoken at his inauguration festivities, didn’t hesitate. “I’ve said this a million times, Donald Trump is the most resilient human being that I’ve ever met in my life,” he said. “But that one ends badly for him.” The quick quip earned a laugh from Lara, who seemed to enjoy the moment.

White’s admiration for Trump is well documented. He spoke at Trump’s pre-inauguration ceremony back in January and called him a historic leader. “I am honored to be here to celebrate President Trump’s historic victory,” White said at the time. “He didn’t just win this election. He won it in dominant fashion.”

Yet, despite his political allegiance, White didn’t hesitate to acknowledge Jon Jones’ unmatched prowess in combat sports. Just last November, he called Jones, the reigning UFC heavyweight champion, the “pound for pound best fighter in the world” and “the best fighter in the history of f***ing people fighting.”

Trump’s own ties to the UFC world have grown stronger in recent years. He attended UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden with Elon Musk and has received vocal support from fighters like Conor McGregor and Colby Covington. McGregor even visited Trump at the White House earlier this year, though he later criticized some of the administration’s trade policies.

White, known for his blunt honesty and loyalty to both the sport and his friends, managed to show both in one punchline. Though he has stood beside Trump at political events, he clearly draws the line at a hypothetical cage match with Jon Jones.
