Can 100 men take down a gorilla? – Daniel Cormier And Ben Askren Go Back And Forth On The ‘100 Men vs. Gorilla’ Trend

Daniel Cormier and Ben Askren
Can 100 men take down a gorilla? This one question has been taking the internet by storm recently. It was initially featured in a Reddit thread and then quickly made its way to TikTok and social media. And now, even UFC fighters are getting interested in the matter! Putting forward their opinions, several UFC athletes have dived into the trend. The latest additions to the list are Ben Askren and Daniel Cormier.
The duo recently appeared on the ‘Funky and the Champ’ show. On being asked who would win in a fight, Askren and Cormier seemed to be on different levels. Askren immediately sided with the humans, stating that a gorilla will be beaten by 100 humans. And the main reason for the same, according to the UFC fighter, was cardio.
“If a gorilla can kill a human in 15 seconds, 100 humans, that’s 1500 seconds, that’s like 25 minutes. Can a gorilla really fight hard for 25 minutes? No, that gorilla can’t fight hard for 25 minutes… One hundred Daniel Cormiers are beating a gorilla, I’m putting my house on that,” said Askren.
However, Cormier was not at all convinced. The former UFC champ champ stated that gorillas were wild beasts. Thus, they might not play by the rules and would most probably wreck anything and everything in front of them.
“Every time they’re running at him, he’s like, bang, bang, bang. 100 men have no chance. It will not take 25 minutes. First off, he’s biting, he’s scratching, and he’s slapping the sh*t out of you,” said Cormier.
Surely, Cormier was not at all buying what Askren had to say. Meanwhile, opining on the same, Merab Dvalishvili recently stated that he alone was enough to take down a gorilla.
Merab Dvalishvili Disagrees With Daniel Cormier On Taking Down A Gorilla

Merab Dvalishvili
Merab Dvalishvili has put over some really menacing opponents during his career. Putting over the likes of Sean O’Malley and Umar Nurmagomedov, Dvalishvili is now a reputed name in the UFC bantamweight division. However, he has never faced a gorilla in his life! Well, quite naturally.
Even then, Dvalishvili is quite confident about beating one if he comes across a gorilla someday.
“1 gorilla? That’s easy bro. I’m smart, I’m strong, I’m training every day… Shoot, take him down, easy. I think I can take 1 gorilla,” Dvalishvili stated.
Thus, with some funny comparisons coming in, it will now be interesting to see what new theories come in next.
