Ashley Tisdale’s ‘toxic mom group’ drama heats up again as she hangs out with Hilary Duff’s estranged sister Haylie

Ashley Tisdale’s ‘toxic mom group’ drama has been reignited as the star unexpectedly met up with Hilary Duff’s ‘estranged’ sister Haylie Duff for a playdate this week.

The actress, 40, sparked a frenzy earlier this month when she wrote an essay for The Cut, detailing her fallout with a group of Hollywood moms she was once friends with.

While Tisdale never identified any of the women, fans were convinced she was taking aim at Duff’s mom crew with fellow stars Meghan Trainor and Mandy Moore – something a rep for Tisdale has denied.

However, Tisdale raised eyebrows on Tuesday when she posted a photo of her eldest daughter Jupiter, four, playing with Haylie’s daughter Ryan, 10.

She shared the snap to her Instagram Story after it was originally posted by Haylie with the caption: ‘Under table shenanigans @ashleetisdalefrench’

The hangout comes just days after Duff appeared to finally confirm that she and Haylie are no longer on speaking terms after years of rift rumors.

She did so during her London concerts last week as she performed her new track We Don’t Talk.

Duff seems to reference their feud by singing, ‘Don’t know when it happened / Not even sure what it was about.’

She then drops a big clue that the song is about Haylie, singing, ‘Cause we come from the same home, same blood.’

Duff continues, ‘People ask me how you’re doing / I wanna say amazing, but the truth is that I don’t know / What I always end up saying is how we don’t talk / we don’t talk about it / We don’t talk about anything anymore.’

She then alludes to her Napoleon Dynamite star sister possibly being ‘jealous’ of her.

‘And if it’s ’cause you’re jealous / God knows I would sell it all, then break you off the bigger half,’ she croons.

In an emotional turn, Duff then pleads for herself and Haylie to bury the hatchet and hash out their issues once and for all.

‘Let’s have it out / I’ll hear you out, you’ll hear me out on the couch / Get back to how we were as kids / Let’s break it down / So sick of being so sad about / How we don’t talk and you won’t talk about it,’ she sings.

While Duff hasn’t officially confirmed that the track is about her sister, fans on social media are certain that it is.

‘Hilary Duff just sung We Don’t Talk and it’s 100% about Haylie. But not mean at all. Basically telling her to reach out,’ commented one.

‘I just don’t get why either can’t pick up a phone and just talk, there is clearly a way to relay it,’ wrote another.

The Daily Mail reached out to Hilary and Haylie for comment but never heard back.

Duff has found herself in the headlines amid her musical comeback as well as being dragged into Tisdale’s ‘toxic mom group’ drama.

‘To be clear I have never considered the moms to be bad people (maybe one),’ Tisdale wrote in her essay for The Cut.

‘But I do think our group dynamic stopped being healthy and positive – for me anyway.’

At the time, fans noticed that the article arrived shortly after she unfollowed both Duff and Moore on Instagram.

In an awkward turn of events, Duff’s sister Haylie ‘liked’ Tisdale’s post about the toxic group on Instagram, further fueling rumors of a feud between the Duffs.

Since 2019, the once inseparable siblings have not been photographed publicly and appear to have little online interaction with one another.

The rumored feud between the sisters allegedly stems from tension involving Hilary’s husband, Matthew Koma, and Haylie’s fiancé, Matthew Rosenberg.

Celebrity gossip outlet DeuxMoi previously claimed the men ‘don’t get along,’ leading to strain between the Duff sisters, though neither has ever publicly addressed the alleged distance in their relationship.

Duff is now focused on her comeback tour and upcoming Las Vegas residency, which coincides with the release of her new album, Luck…or Something, which drops February 20.

While Haylie never reached the dizzying career heights of her superstar sister, she has had plenty of success in her own right.

She’s best known for starring in the cult classic Napoleon Dynamite and for her role on the Christian family drama 7th Heaven.

The mom-of-two also became a successful food blogger, which led to her own cooking shows, and she’s released a string of popular TV movies over the years.

In 2004, Haylie and Hilary teamed up to cover The Go-Go’s classic Our Lips Are Sealed, which became a top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

They later headlined the teen comedy Material Girls together, which was released in 2006 to mixed reviews.

Haylie returned to her home state of Texas in 2021 to raise her children with her entrepreneur fiance.
