Ansel Elgort Welcomes First Baby

Ansel Elgort and his partner have welcomed their first baby together, recently taking their baby on an outing in New York City.

Ansel Elgort has a new baby driver.

The Baby Driver star has added the role of dad to his ever-growing resume, with People confirming he welcomed his first baby.

The actor and his partner made their family debut with an outing in NYC on January 13, where he had their baby strapped to his chest.

In the images, Ansel held his baby—who was dressed in a teddy bear onesie—close as the trio walked the streets of New York City and rode together on the subway.

The news comes after Ansel has kept a low profile in recent years—following an allegation of sexual assault by a woman named Gabby, to Ansel denied any wrongdoing on his part—though he began making more frequent public appearances throughout 2025.

While 2021’s West Side Story was Ansel’s last big film role, he kept busy as Jake Adelstein in the TV series Tokyo Vice, which ran for two seasons on HBO Max. And, more recently, the Fault in Our Stars actor turned his sights to the stage.

In November, Ansel made his professional dance debut in the rock ballet Quadrophenia, which was inspired by The Who’s album of the same name.

Ansel lead the company as The Godfather—a role The Who frontman Pete Townshend was thrilled to see the actor inhabit.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Ansel to Quadrophenia,” the musician said ahead of the show’s NYC debut. “The spirit of Rock ‘n’ Roll was not just my generation. It’s every generation.”

But when he hasn’t been performing on stage, the 31-year-old—who previously dated ballerina Violetta Komyshan—has been reconnecting with old friends, including The Fault in Our Stars author John Green.

“Recently drove across the country and made a great stop in Indiana to see John Green,” Ansel wrote on Instagram in July. “He took me to see the actual funky bones!”

And indeed, the actor and author took photos atop the installation from artist Joep van Lieshout.

“If you remember from tfios Gus takes Hazel Grace there because the artist is Dutch,” Ansel explained. “He then surprises her with Dutch cheese and tomato sandwich (the tomato’s were Mexican) and tells her that they are going to Amsterdam!!!”

But Ansel, for his part, has improved his own culinary skills since his cheese and tomato sandwich days. In December, the Divergent star showed off his breakfast making skills, which he said was practice for his upcoming role as Count Hubert de Givenchy in Dinner With Audrey.

He captioned the Dec. 14 snap, “Preparing for my role as Givenchy by making French toast.”
