Rihanna Shares Rare Insight on How A$AP Rocky Annoys Her as Their Kids RZA, 2, and Riot, 1, Live for Their Dad

Rihanna loves watching A$AP Rocky in dad mode, though she admits there’s one tiny drawback—just how much their two sons adore him.

In a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar published on Saturday, February 22, the 37-year-old music and fashion icon opened up about Rocky’s qualities as a father, gushing that the “greatest thing” about the rapper, 36, is seeing him embrace fatherhood. “His pureness. His charm,” she praised.

But while Rocky’s parenting skills are undoubtedly admirable, they sometimes leave Rihanna feeling slightly overlooked in her own household.

“I’m annoyed because my sons sometimes just live for him more than they live for me,” she confessed. “And I’m like, ‘Do you know who cooked you? Do you know who pushed you out?’ And they love him, but when I see it, oh, it’s the best.”

Beyond their roles as parents, Rihanna also shared how she and Rocky navigate life in the public eye while maintaining a sense of normalcy. Despite their immense fame, they prioritize living life without unnecessary restrictions, especially in New York City, where Rocky was born and raised.

“We like to eat with people,” Rihanna told Harper’s Bazaar. “We like to shop with people. We like to walk the streets with people.”

Rejecting the typical celebrity lifestyle, she explained, “I don’t like a private room. I don’t have them shut down stores. I don’t like the Rapunzel life. It’s very isolating. It’s very lonely. And what am I protecting myself from? I’m actually allowing people to dictate the robbery of the life that I could actually be living.”

Living life as if nobody else is watching is crucial to their relationship, Rihanna revealed, and it’s something Rocky often reminds her of.

“No matter how hard everything is that we’re dealing with in our life, in our careers, and as parents, he’s like, ‘Remember when we were friends? Remember when we just used to have fun as friends?’” she said.

Over the years, the couple has offered fans rare glimpses into their love story. In his GQ cover story from June/July 2021, Rocky first opened up about their relationship, calling Rihanna the “love of my life.”

Reflecting on being in love, he told the magazine, “So much better. So much better when you got ‘the One.’ She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones.”

“I think when you know, you know,” he added. “She’s the One.”

Since becoming parents, their bond has deepened even further. In 2023, Rihanna told Page Six that both Riot and RZA are “obsessed” with their dad and admitted that her love for Rocky has transformed since he stepped into the role of fatherhood.

“I love him differently as a dad. It’s a turn-on,” she shared, adding that Rocky is a “great, patient, loving” father.

With their commitment to each other, their kids, and a life that prioritizes love over celebrity status, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky continue to redefine what it means to be a power couple in the entertainment world.
