Offset Shocks Cardi B by Requesting Joint Custody of Their Three Children as Divorce Nears Final Stage

The divorce battle between Cardi B and Offset has reached a new level of intensity, as the Migos rapper has officially filed for joint legal custody of their three children—Kulture, 6, Wave, 3, and their 5-month-old daughter—according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
Offset Seeks Joint Custody Amidst Divorce Process

Despite seeking joint custody, Offset (real name Kiari Cephus) has requested that Cardi B’s home be the children’s primary residence. He also stated in the legal filing that both he and Cardi B (real name Belcalis Almanzar) should cover their own legal expenses, avoiding any financial disputes over court fees.
While neither Cardi B nor Offset have publicly commented on this latest legal move, this development marks a major step toward finalizing their tumultuous separation.
The Rocky Road to Divorce
Cardi B initially filed for divorce in July 2023, citing irreconcilable differences after years of on-and-off drama in their relationship. In December, the “Bongos” rapper stated that she and Offset had reached a “peaceful” co-parenting arrangement. However, things quickly turned sour when Offset took to X (formerly Twitter) with a since-deleted post, appearing to throw shade at his ex-wife:
“Stop capping to these ppl to make yourself look like the hoe it ain’t the look. U a fire woman, good music, but u focus on d–k and tryna make me look bad.”
Cardi B swiftly fired back, urging Offset to “F–k off and sign the papers.” She later accused Offset and his mother, Latabia Woodward, of robbing her.
Cardi B’s Explosive Claims Against Offset
During a heated conversation on X Spaces in January, Cardi B made shocking allegations against Offset, claiming that he was using their children as leverage to delay the divorce process.
“You wanna talk about, you haven’t accepted the divorce because you not gonna agree on my terms ’cause you just wanna see the kids,” Cardi said.
She went on to call out Offset’s alleged absence from their children’s lives:
“You wanna see the kids? You just called your daughter for the first time this year—yesterday. Your newborn. You love your kids so much, but you didn’t buy them s–t for Christmas.”
What’s Next for Cardi B and Offset?
While Offset’s request for joint custody might indicate a shift toward more involvement in his children’s lives, Cardi B’s explosive claims suggest deep-seated tension remains between the two.
With the divorce nearing its final stage, all eyes are on Cardi B and Offset as they navigate this final chapter of their highly publicized relationship. Will they be able to set aside their differences for the sake of their children, or is more drama on the horizon? Only time will tell.
