A mum-of-two has revealed that parents “pull their children closer” when they spot her heavily tattooed figure on the street.

Kyla, a self-proclaimed ink enthusiast, has splashed out a whopping $330,000 [£240,095] on body art, covering about 90% of her skin. Despite the adoration she and her partner have for her tattoos, Kyla has faced harsh judgement, with some branding her a “circus freak”.

Others have going as far as to question her parenting, and she has even been booted out of eateries due to her appearance. Speaking to Truly TV on YouTube, the tattoo model shared her conservative upbringing in a Mormon church. She added: “It was very conservative, strict, so I wasn’t allowed to do a lot of thing I wanted to do growing up,” she admitted.

She wasn’t allowed to express herself through her clothing or look, so as she got older she began experimenting and hasn’t looked back.

Now, the Illinois-based mum often finds herself under the tattooist’s needle twice a week, a stark contrast to her once-restricted life. “I never in my life pictured that I would be this heavily tattooed,” Kyla confessed, revealing that her partner Vampiro is also covered in tattoos.

She explained the prejudice they face, saying: “We’ve been kicked out of restaurants for having face tattoos, before I even open my mouth we’re assumed to be bad parents.” Yet, she insists: “We’re actually very normal, just like everybody else.”

Kyla has shrugged off the negative comments she gets online, confessing: “The most common comment I see is – ‘you were so beautiful until you ruined yourself with tattoos’.” But she’s not phased by the critics, saying: “None of that stuff bothers me – it’s not for attention, I just like the way I look.”

But plenty of people on social media shared their opinions. A visibly peeved commenter added: “What a good example for your kids! I just don’t understand these people! ” while someone else branded her choice as “stupid”.

“What type of example are you setting?,” probed someone else. “I feel sorry for her kids,” chimed in yet another.

On a more positive note, a supporter asserted: “Tattooed and pierced people are the most incredible individuals I have ever met. If my kids are ever lost, I tell them to go find someone that’s heavily tattooed or pierced or find a biker. These amazing people will help you find home.”

Meanwhile, a defender of inked parents stated: “Tattoos don’t make you a bad parent.” Another wrote: “I never doubted you weren’t a good parent.” Over on YouTube, admirers continue to weigh in, with a fan gushing: “She is absolutely gorgeous with or without tattoos”.
