😱 Chanelle Talks Nelly, Motherhood & New Docuseries in Exclusive Interview With The Fix!

Chanelle Haynes, daughter of hip-hop legend Nelly, recently sat down with The Fix on 100.3 The Beat to discuss her new docuseries, life as a mother, and stepping back into the spotlight. The interview was filled with personal insights, behind-the-scenes revelations, and even a hilarious response to Nelly’s comments about his kids moving back home!

🎥 Chanelle’s New Docuseries: What to Expect

One of the biggest topics of conversation was her upcoming family show. This will be the second season of the series, and Chanelle is excited for fans to see a new dynamic unfold.

“This time around, the focus is more on my dad and Ashanti navigating parenthood while all of us—the ‘kids’—are now parents ourselves.”

Fans will get a closer look at how motherhood has shaped Chanelle, as well as the relationships within the family. While she admits she doesn’t put everything on display, she reassured listeners that the show will give a deeper look into her personal life than what’s typically seen on social media.

👶 Motherhood & Being a ‘Big Sis’ (By 30 Years!)

Chanelle also opened up about her unique role in her family—not just as Nelly’s daughter, but also as a 30-year-older sister to her new sibling!

“I’ve always felt like a mother figure to my younger brother, who I’m only five years older than. So, being 30 years older this time around isn’t much different for me, but I know to everyone else, it looks wild!”

She explained that big age gaps are actually pretty common in her culture, sharing that her own family has multiple generations growing up close in age.

🌍 Life in St. Louis & Avoiding the L.A. Lifestyle

Despite growing up in the spotlight, Chanelle made the deliberate decision to move back to St. Louis after living in California for five years.

“Once I had my baby, I wanted to raise him around family, at least in his early years. I also needed to come back and get some grounding after being away for so long.”

Unlike many in the entertainment industry who relocate to Atlanta, New York, or L.A., Chanelle chose to stay true to her roots.

🎙️ ‘Mom For Life’ Podcast: Empowering Mothers Everywhere

In addition to her docuseries, Chanelle revealed she’s launching a new podcast called Mom For Life. The podcast will focus on the different experiences of motherhood, highlighting stories from all walks of life—regardless of background, ethnicity, or financial status.

“I’ve been in rooms with people at the peak of success, and I’ve also met mothers who are struggling to get their kids back after being incarcerated. I want to bridge that gap and give all moms a voice.”

She assured fans that the podcast is launching very soon, so stay tuned!

😂 Nelly’s Viral Comments About His Kids Moving Back Home

Of course, Chanelle couldn’t leave the studio without addressing Nelly’s recent viral comments on Drink Champs—where he joked that his daughter could always come back home, but his son had to figure it out on his own.

Laughing, Chanelle responded:

“He’s silly for that! But honestly, part of it is true. My dad always wanted to make sure we had a support system because he didn’t have one when he was coming up.”

She added that while she doesn’t actually live with Nelly, knowing that she always has that safety net means everything.

“I texted him like, ‘I think I’m still your only girl, so I deserve a spot in there!’”

🔜 What’s Next for Chanelle?

With a docuseries, podcast, and her own growing career, Chanelle is stepping into her own spotlight—on her own terms. While she enjoys staying behind the scenes, she’s ready to embrace the public eye again.

“I’ve had time to grow outside of the industry, and now I feel more prepared for the scrutiny and criticism that comes with it.”

Chanelle’s journey from celebrity daughter to mother, businesswoman, and creative force is just beginning. Be sure to follow her on social media:
