Joe Rogan cannot believe the manner in which Khamzat Chimaev trains. Chimaev, who is touted as one of the most ferocious fighters in the UFC, had some significant health problems. However, speaking in a recent episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience,’ the host revealed why Chimaev’s complications took such a bad turn.

As it turns out, Chimaev was terribly ill from late 2020 till early 2021. And this was due to his training regime. The Chechen fighter was diagnosed with COVID-19. But he refused to pay any heed to the same. While in the middle of his treatment, Chimaev continued his hardcore training. Such an extreme measure caused his health to deteriorate.

“This guy Khamzat Chimaev and this motherf**ker is a psychopath. He’s a savage. One of the most savage guys that have ever fought in the sport. He just kept training [through COVID]. This motherfu**ker trains like eight hours a day. He trains like a Wolverine. He’s an animal,” Rogan stated on his podcast.

Rogan also termed Chimaev ‘psychotic’ owing to his extreme attempts. Meanwhile, Chimaev has been pushing for his shot at the UFC middleweight title. After UFC 312, both Dricus Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev went on a verbal spat.

Khamzat Chimaev has been pushing for a title shot for a long time now. However, after an impeccable performance against Robert Whittaker, Chimaev is the next favorite to take on Dricus Du Plessis. After Du Plessis managed to thwart Sean Strickaland’s threat, Chimaev took quite a brutal dig. He immediately called out the game for being boring.

On the contrary, Du Plessis was not the one to sit back quietly. He immediately asked Chimaev not to mess with him and to stay out. He also made his stance clear by noting that he would be wrestling with Chimaev.

Thus, with things looking quite intense, it now remains to be seen how things pan out in the future.
