Alex Pereira Gives Stern Warning As Rematch With Magomed Ankalaev Seems Inevitable
Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira
Alex Pereira is itching to get back into the ring with Magomed Ankalaev. After his UFC 313 bout ended in a controversial decision, the calls for a rematch are mounting significantly. Coming into the bout, it was Pereira who was heavily favored. However, ‘Poatan’ did not quite look like his usual self. Coming into the match, Pereira looked quite timid in his approach. Instead of his usual aggressive self, Pereira was quite on the defensive side.
But all that has changed as of now it seems. In a recent interaction with Ariel Helwani, Pereira stated that he is eagerly waiting for the rematch to get official. He also mentioned that August 2025 will be a suitable time for him to make a comeback to the octagon.
“I can’t wait for this [rematch]. It’s going to be a very different fight… I feel that I have enough game to do whatever I want with this guy,” said Pereira.
Surely, with confidence oozing from ‘Poatan’, the rematch can be expected to be a banger. Meanwhile, Pereira also hit back at Ankalaev’s team after they accused the former champion of greasing.
Alex Pereira Lashes Out At Greasing Accusations

Magomed Ankalev’s coach recently accused that Alex Pereira might have used grease for added advantage. Despite multiple checks being conducted, a champion escaping the system with grease on his body is surely a serious allegation. However, Pereira does not seem to be very pleased with the allegations.
The former champion immediately responded saying, “Sounds to me like he’s trying to make an excuse to justify the fact that he trained a guy to take me down, but the guy got stuffed on 12 takedowns.”
