A new era is dawning in Dallas.
The Dallas Wings have officially introduced Paige Bueckers, their top pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, during a press conference that felt less like a rookie introduction and more like the arrival of a franchise cornerstone.
The UConn legend, social media sensation, and one of the most anticipated WNBA prospects in recent history is finally going pro, and she’s wearing teal.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Paige to Dallas,” said Wings GM Greg Bibb. “She’s a transformational talent, a natural leader, and someone who can impact the game from day one.”
From College Stardom to WNBA Spotlight
Bueckers enters the league with one of the most decorated résumés in recent women’s college basketball history. As a freshman at UConn, she won the Naismith Player of the Year, became a national household name, and battled through injury setbacks to return stronger and more focused.
In her final collegiate season, Bueckers averaged over 20 points per game, led UConn to another deep tournament run, and once again proved she’s built for the big stage.
“It’s been a dream of mine to play in the WNBA since I was a kid,” Bueckers told reporters. “To be drafted by a team like Dallas — with so much talent and potential — it’s truly special. I’m ready to get to work.”
A Perfect Fit in Dallas
The Wings already boast one of the league’s most exciting young rosters, led by Arike Ogunbowale, Satou Sabally, and Teaira McCowan. Adding Bueckers — a versatile playmaker with elite vision, shooting, and basketball IQ — gives Dallas a potentially lethal backcourt and a whole new layer to their offense.
Head Coach Latricia Trammell called Paige “the ultimate competitor” and hinted that she could see significant minutes immediately, both as a floor general and a scoring threat.
“She makes everyone around her better,” Trammell said. “Her court awareness, her pace, her ability to lead — it’s rare. We’re excited to build with her.”
Beyond the Court: Star Power & Culture Builder
Bueckers isn’t just a basketball player — she’s already a brand. With a massive following on social media, partnerships with major companies, and a growing voice in women’s sports, her impact is expected to go well beyond the hardwood.
But make no mistake: Paige is here to win.
“I’m coming in to compete,” she said. “Not just to learn, but to help this team go to the next level. The goal is a championship — nothing less.”
Wings Take Flight with Paige
As fans packed into the press room and tuned in across the country, one thing became clear:
The Paige Bueckers era in Dallas has officially begun.
With her arrival, the Wings aren’t just thinking playoffs —
they’re thinking banners.
