In a recently released training vlog, UFC lightweight star Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett teamed up with interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall for a high-energy training session. The video, posted on Paddy’s YouTube channel, gave fans an inside look at the camaraderie and mutual respect between two of the UK’s most popular MMA fighters.

During the session, Aspinall opened up about his current situation in the heavyweight division. With Jon Jones expected to vacate the undisputed heavyweight title, Aspinall—who’s held the interim belt for over 500 days—expressed relief at finally moving forward without the uncertainty of a title unification bout. “It’s a weight off my shoulders,” he told Paddy.
The pair went through various drills, including grappling, pad work, and movement exercises, exchanging techniques and insights from their respective divisions. Though Aspinall is a heavyweight and Paddy competes at lightweight, the training was fluid and collaborative.

“Tom’s a beast,” Paddy said in the video. “It’s not every day you get to train with the heavyweight champ, and I’m learning loads.”
Fans praised the video for showcasing the lighter, more personal side of two elite fighters. Their natural chemistry and shared sense of humor made the footage as entertaining as it was informative.
With both fighters looking ahead to major bouts later this year, fans are already speculating whether this partnership could become a regular part of their training camps. For now, it’s clear that Paddy and Tom are not only two of Britain’s brightest MMA talents—but also close allies in and out of the cage.
