Caitlin Clark has officially arrived — and she’s brought a winning mentality with her. On May 10, 2025, the Indiana Fever capped off a perfect WNBA preseason with a gritty 81–76 win over the Atlanta Dream, and once again, it was the rookie phenom who stood out.

From commanding the floor to making clutch plays down the stretch, Clark showed maturity far beyond her years. Her strength — both physical and mental — was on full display, proving she’s not just here to participate; she’s here to lead.

A Rookie with Veteran Composure
Clark finished the game with 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, filling the stat sheet while playing with poise and control. Whether absorbing contact on drives, boxing out under the rim, or initiating transition offense, she played with a toughness that set the tone for her team.
“Caitlin plays with so much confidence and grit,” said Fever head coach Christie Sides. “She’s already raising the level of everyone around her.”
Her basketball IQ and awareness allowed her to read Atlanta’s defense and make the right plays — whether it was finding Lexie Hull on a cut or pulling up from deep when the lane collapsed.

Fever Firing on All Cylinders
While Clark was the star, the Fever’s undefeated preseason was a team effort.
Lexie Hull led all scorers with 14 points, continuing her strong shooting form.
Kelsey Mitchell added 12 points, serving as a consistent veteran presence.
The Fever defense came up big in the fourth quarter, forcing key turnovers and holding off a late surge from Atlanta.
Together, Indiana looked like a different team — unified, aggressive, and hungry.
Clark Speaks Out
After the win, Clark credited the team’s chemistry and mindset:
“It’s been a grind, but this group is locked in. We’re holding each other accountable, we’re playing hard, and we believe in what we’re building here.”
She also touched on the physicality of the league — and how she’s adjusting:
“Everyone here is strong, fast, physical. You have to be mentally tough, and you have to be fearless. I love that. That’s how I want to play.”
Next Stop: Regular Season
The Fever now shift their focus to their regular season opener on May 16 against the Chicago Sky. With an undefeated preseason and the leadership of Caitlin Clark, they’re no longer just a rebuilding team — they’re a legitimate threat.
Clark summed it up best:
“We’re just getting started. The real season begins now.”
