Trump announces ominous Oval Office statement after multi-day absence from public eye

President Donald Trump has called for reporters to meet him in the Oval Office today following his multi-day absence, with many questioning whether he is about to resign from his post.
After days of speculation over the welfare of the 79-year-old POTUS, the Trump administration has issued a roll call for press to come to the White House for 2 pm today (September 2).
“THE PRESIDENT makes an announcement,” is the ominous message issued by staff, but exactly what that means has bemused people online.
One account on Twitter posed the question to its followers: “Is he resigning?” while another commented: “You don’t call the cameras unless you’ve got something heavy to say.”
With a third joking: “People are saying he’s going to announce that he has unfortunately died.”

The president is set to make an announcement from the Oval Office later today
That’s due to speculation surrounding the Republican’s health, with many eagle-eyed Americans spotting the persistent bruising cropping up on his right hand, and of course, his age.
But it began as Trump had no public events scheduled for Saturday (August 30) – around when the gossip started – and rather than assume the president had simply taken the day off, everyone rushed to conclude he was dead.
Taking to Truth Social, the president has now distinguished all claims that he’s dead… although he didn’t need to, as he was in fact pictured on the South Lawn with his granddaughter Kai Trump the same day, as they prepared to visit the Trump National golf course in Sterling, Virginia.

“NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE. Also, DC IS A CRIME FREE ZONE! President DJT,” he posted.
So, it would seem the president is very much alive – but he’s been unable to shake those rumors, with a corner of the internet having already drawn to the conclusion that Trump has died during his second term.
As for exactly what it could be, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told the Washington Examiner previously that the Trump administration may declare a national housing emergency this fall.

Bruising could be seen on the back of Trump’s right hand during a meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, last Monday
“We’re trying to figure out what we can do, and we don’t want to step into the business of states, counties, and municipal governments,” he said, per Bloomberg.
“We may declare a national housing emergency in the fall.”
He went on to explain that housing affordability will be crucial for the Republicans’ midterm election next year, although he did not specify what actions the president may take but hinted that decreasing closing costs could be one avenue Trump takes.
