The truth behind Tyson Fury’s video after the Gypsy King teased fans over spectacular comeback fight at Old Trafford
Tyson Fury’s promoters posted a teaser video of the Gypsy King at the stadium
Supporters hoped that he might come out of retirement to face Anthony Joshua
Tyson Fury set tongues waggling on Monday when he appeared in a short video suggesting he was due to make a comeback to boxing at Old Trafford.
The Gypsy King, 36, hung up his gloves in January after suffering a second successive defeat by Oleksandr Usyk.
That decision dashed boxing fans hopes of a Battle of Britain clash against fellow heavyweight Anthony Joshua. However, those hopes were reignited by a video posted by his promoter, Queensberry Promotions.
The teasing video showed Fury walking down the tunnel towards Man United’s Old Trafford pitch while wearing an England flag.
The video’s accompanying caption read, which included eye and hourglass emoji, read: ‘The return of The Gypsy King?’
Now, the truth behind that post has emerged: Fury will manage the England team at Old Trafford on June 15 in Soccer Aid 2025.

The huge charity match will see Fury’s side, which includes Wayne Rooney, take on a World XI to raise money for UNICEF.
Pros Joe Hart, Steph Houghton, Toni Duggan, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Nadia Nadim; and Leonardo Bonucci will all feature. As well a host of celebrities including Louis Tomlinson; Vicky McClure; Sam Quek and Sir Mo Farah.

Fury, well-known as a big football fan, spoke with enthusiasm at his new role.
‘England manager!’ he said. ‘Who would ever have thought it?
‘I have had some big fights in my career and the prospect of leading my England team to victory this June fills me with just as much excitement as any heavyweight fight!
‘Everyone knows that I am a huge Manchester United fan too, so it’s even more special for me that the game is at Old Trafford this year — and I get to manage one of my heroes, Wayne Rooney! How can we lose!? The work UNICEF does all around the world is so special and so important.’
