Megan Thee Stallion breaks down in tears as she recalls heartbreaking decision about her late mom
Megan Thee Stallion has opened up about the heartbreaking decision she had to make when her mother, Holly Thomas, fell ill with a brain tumor in early 2019.

Speaking about her late mom in her Amazon Prime documentary, Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Own Words, the 29-year-old rapper wiped away tears as she explained that she had to ‘pull the plug’ because Holly was ‘brain dead.’

Recalling when her mom first told her she felt unwell, Megan said: ‘I remember I was in LA and my mama called me and she was like, “I keep f**king up my words,” and she was like, “I really think something is wrong, like I’m talking really slow, I feel funny, I need you to call 911.”‘

‘I didn’t wanna freak out because I didn’t want to freak her out,’ the rapper said of when her mom was in hospital.

‘It was a tumor in her brain and we were just like, “Damn, how long [has] this been going on?” and “What does that mean?” It was like she started giving me a pep talk, like she knew something was about to happen to her, and then she started having back-to-back seizures.’

Fighting back tears, the WAP hitmaker continued: ‘It was like she was just not responding. I was in shambles and they had to put her under and she was just brain dead.

‘So I stayed up there every day like I was spending the night at the hospital, I just was praying that she could shake back from it.

‘And once I realized she wasn’t coming back, I was just like, “Damn, I can’t keep her like this,” because I know she wouldn’t have wanted to stay like this. So I had to make the decision to, I guess, pull the plug and she just passed the next day.’

As the documentary continues, Megan admitted: ‘When my mama passed away, I think I really forgot who I was and I lost a lot of confidence.’

‘I was expecting somebody to say, “I’m gonna run this for you, don’t do this Megan, you should rap like this…” because I was so used to my mama telling me what to do and when life started getting crazy, I didn’t have her,’ the Grammy winner added.

Speaking in present day, Megan explained: ‘I’m trying to be strong every day because I know my mama would want me to be strong.

‘Before she passed, she was like, “I don’t want you to stop just because I’m sick.” I just remember her saying, “You need to go to work,” and that’s what I did.’

She also said of Holly’s passing: ‘After that, I just left Houston and I just never went back,’ referring to the city where she was raised.

Elsewhere in the documentary Megan admitted that she lied to Gayle King about having sex with Tory Lanez.

Back in April 2022, Megan told Gayle in an exclusive chat with CBS Mornings that she had never been intimate with Tory and that he was ‘making up’ claims they slept together – eight months before he would be convicted for shooting her in 2020.

But in a scene from her documentary, she said she was intimate with him ‘once or twice’ and said: ‘Yes b***h, I lied to Gayle King b***h, first of all I didn’t even know that b***h was going to ask me about that s**t.

‘I thought she was gonna ask me about the shooting, why did you ask me about f*****g Tory? That’s not what this s**t is about!’

She added that she slept with him ‘once, maybe twice on a drunk night’ adding that Tory ‘kept catching me out of my f*****g mind.’
