Jayda Cheaves Claps Back at Tia Kemp & Defends Her $70 Lash Kit

The drama between Jayda Cheaves and Tia Kemp is heating up after Tia claimed that Jayda and her co-host, rapper Dess Dior, couldn’t afford her appearance fee for their podcast Act Normal. Now, Jayda is responding, and fans are chiming in on the situation.
Tia Kemp Calls Out Jayda and Dess Dior

Tia Kemp recently took to social media to reveal that she was supposed to be a guest on Act Normal, but negotiations fell through due to her asking price.
“All I said was they act normal people,” Tia began in her rant. “They reached out, emailed my management, wanted me on the podcast tomorrow… but they said they couldn’t afford my fee.”
Tia made it clear that she wasn’t interested in negotiating lower rates, especially since Jayda and Dess Dior flaunt their luxury lifestyles online.
“They can afford their Birkin bags, Chanel bags, and all that other stuff, but they can’t pay my fee?” Tia questioned. “Go tell her baby daddy to cough it up, then! Future or somebody!”
She then went on to drag the podcast’s platform, pointing out its relatively low engagement.
“I went to the Act Normal page. Y’all got 46,000 followers, every little clip got like 200 likes and no comments. Y’all need me to turn y’all up for season two!”
Tia ultimately dismissed the situation, saying she would have come on the show but didn’t appreciate the last-minute request or the budget constraints.
“You don’t reach out two or three days before and expect me to come to another city like that.”
Jayda’s Alleged Response: ‘I Get Money!’
Following Tia’s claims, Jayda posted a TikTok with the caption:
“I don’t have a care in the world. When you get money, you don’t have a care.”
Many fans immediately saw this as a response to Tia’s accusations.
Comments under Jayda’s post included:
“But you couldn’t pay Tia? 👀”
“Seeing this right after Tia’s rant is diabolical! 😂”
“Y’all playing with Auntie Tia! Pay the fee and get her on the podcast!”
Some fans suggested Jayda’s TikTok was just general flexing and not necessarily shade towards Tia. Either way, the timing had social media buzzing.
Jayda Faces Backlash Over $70 Lash Kit
In addition to the podcast drama, Jayda has also been under fire for pricing her lash kit at $70. Critics argue that similar lash kits are available for much cheaper on Amazon or TikTok Shop.
Jayda took to TikTok to defend her pricing, stating:
“Y’all do know that the more y’all talk about somebody, it only makes them trend more in the algorithm. Which means somebody else is going to take interest, which then turns into a new supporter, which then turns into a sale.”
While some fans agreed that people should buy what they want, others weren’t convinced:
“$70 for lashes is insane. I can get a full set done for that.”
“You’re paying for the name, not the quality.”
“If you’re defending this price, you’re a pick-me.”
Some also pointed out that influencer Ari Fletcher’s beauty brand, Remedy by Ari, hasn’t received nearly as much backlash, sparking debates about whether Jayda is unfairly targeted or if her pricing is truly unreasonable.
Final Thoughts
Between the Act Normal podcast drama and the lash kit controversy, Jayda Cheaves is no stranger to online discourse. While she seems unbothered by the backlash, social media remains divided on both issues.
Do you think Jayda was shading Tia Kemp? And is her lash kit really worth $70? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
