Elon Musk Claps Back at Trump’s ‘Train Wreck’ Insult – Sparks Political Firestorm

Elon Musk didn’t hold back after former President Donald Trump publicly branded him a “train wreck.” The war of words erupted when Trump took to Truth Social, venting his frustration:
“I am so disappointed to see Elon Musk go completely off the rails, basically becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks.”
Trump slammed Musk for his ambition to launch a new “American Party,” predicting it would only lead to “chaos.” He also took shots at Musk’s vocal opposition to his prized spending bill—the so-called “One, Big Beautiful Bill.”

He didn’t hold back on the spending bill, either, calling it “an absolute disgrace” and “political suicide.” The bill, which passed Congress last week, has only deepened the rift between the two men.
Trump also took aim at Republican lawmakers who supported the bill despite pledges to cut federal spending, saying they “should hang their heads in shame.”
Musk’s Political Gambit: A Risky Move?
Musk’s push for a new political party has set off alarm bells among political experts. Dr. Dafydd Townley, a political analyst at the University of Portsmouth, cautioned:
“Third parties rarely last long in American politics.”
He warned that Musk’s new party could split the Republican vote, potentially handing the House to the Democrats—at least in the short term.
Kevin Madden, senior partner at the Penta Group, echoed those concerns:
“Most voters are drawn to the major parties out of loyalty. A third party will find it hard to attract the support and organization needed to survive.”
