The funeral of Pope Francis, who died this week at 88, will be livestreamed Saturday on YouTube, available for free in multiple languages.

Vatican News, the official news outlet of the Holy See, will provide comprehensive coverage of Pope Francis’s funeral this Saturday, April 26, starting at 10 a.m. CET/4 a.m. ET.

The livestream of the funeral and related events will be available on its official YouTube channel in English and also available in Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese and German.

Pope Francis’ funeral Mass will take place Saturday in St. Peter’s Square, marking the beginning of the Novemdiales, an ancient tradition of nine days of mourning and Masses for the repose of the late pope’s soul, according to Vatican News.

The pope’s funeral, according to strict protocol, is to be followed two to three weeks later by the secretive conclave, in which 135 cardinals from around the world gather in the Sistine Chapel to elect the next leader of the Catholic Church.

The conclave is expected to begin sometime between May 5 and 10.

Pope Francis, a native of Argentina who the first Latin American leader of the Catholic Church, died on Monday, April 21, a day after he emerged from convalescence and taking a surprise popemobile ride to bless thousands of people in St. Peter’s Square on Easter Sunday.

According to the Vatican, the late pontiff died after suffering a stroke that put him in a coma and led to heart failure.

Following the pope’s death, streaming of 2024 film “Conclave,” starring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, Isabella Rossellini and John Lithgow has soared, as has interest in Netflix’s 2019 drama “The Two Popes.”
